I have been living life where it is safe.
But then I was reminded that life is sweeter out on the open waters.
Less sure, but more of an adventure.
So this ship left the harbor.
And though the storm may rage.
I can hold fast to the One who has never let me go.
By His grace I will not retreat.
With His love I will push through.
In His embrace I find stability through it all.

Lovely Rain
Sundays in my world seem to have a magic that's all their own.Today was certainly no different. After seeing God's fingerprints throughout my morning in so many small ways, I found myself encouraged and ready to brave this harsh world yet again.
So after a nap and a chat with my dear friend online, I decided instead of driving, that I was going to walk to my friends' house to borrow something I needed. Then I looked outside and the dark clouds seemed to laugh at me as they foretold of coming rain.
But if you know me at all, you know that I'm more stubborn than any silly rain cloud.
So I took off down the road thinking I might beat the clouds. But in mockery, they poured down on me. And I simply laughed and looked up and thanked God for the refreshing rain that washed away the stains of the past days. I must have looked ridiculous. Walking down the side of a busy road, soaking wet, a huge grin on my face, with none other than a shirt that said in big, bold letters "IOWA". And I couldn't have been more content than in those moments. Doesn't love usually look somewhat ridiculous to those of us on the outside?
Thank You, Father for the rain
And its image of what You have done for me
Thank You for the reminder that You not only know
But that You also are interested
Abba, help my unbelief!
